The image above is the one I selected for my postcard. You are not supposed to use original art, but a copy in the form of a postcard. This piece was created using a gelli plate, stencils, antique Asian paper and a piece of vintage Hill Tribe fabric from Vietnam.

I love swaps - especially when they are quick and easy ones, like the international postcard swap called "Liberate Your Art" by Kat over at Kat eye studio.
A little about why Kat started this swap:
This the first year that I am participating. My postcard is shown in the photo above. There is still time if you want to play along - all materials must arrive to Kat's address or before Saturday, March 14. Materials arriving after this date will not be swapped. I just dropped mine in the mail today!

You may have seen the image below that I shared on Facebook. The day I took it on the streets of Bangkok, I received this postcard with the red high heels. Fun timing.
I sent a note to each person I received a card from and visited their blogs (if they had one). Lynn from PA, Meena from MI, Melissa from TN, Ungala from FL, Sea Dean from CA and Kat!
It was fun to meet new artists and see what art people are creating out there in the world. I have not heard where mine ended up. So if you did get one... give me a shout : ).

Meet Smudge...
Smudge was born to a feral mother. My cousin adopted him when he was 6 weeks old (he is now two and a half). He moved into a single family home with a family of two teen boys, two cats, and a big dog. He was very loved.
But… smudge had a wild streak to him. He liked to scratch furniture and mark his territory inside the house (she had to have one couch reupholstered and carpet in the basement replaced from damage he did). He also liked to bring dead animals home – a sign of love in the cat world.
They tried to train him for one and a half years. Unfortunately, my cousin had to give smudge away. She searched for a good home and found a horse stable that was looking for a good “mouser”. Smudge was the perfect cat for this.
My cousin tearfully drove him to the stable – FIVE miles from her home.
Three months later……
Guess who was on her front porch?
SMUDGE!! He was meowing away when he saw her. How on earth did he travel five miles to get home?
First thing he did was purr, and then eat, and then got a bath! Then he snuggled up to his best buddy daisy. She DID NOT pose them in the photo below!
Is this PRECIOUS or what?
And if you are wondering...there is no way she can give him away again. He weighed 18 pounds and is now only 9. She plans to have him de-clawed and will keep him in the house. My guess is he will go back up to 18 pounds in a short period of time!

I found these two cups sitting just like this on a table at the Thow Kwang Dragon Kiln in Singapore. So perfect. Kim would have loved them : )

It is always a thrill to be published in the fabulous mixed media magazine Somerset Studio!
It was like a little Christmas present to me.
My Nov/Dec issue of Somerset Studio magazine FINALLY arrived yesterday. I was very anxious to receive it as I have an article published on "the last page". There was no artwork, just a little article about the love of my first rubber stamp and how it started a life long hobby obsession for me.
I love the little note the editor put at the bottom of the article...
They ask that we not share the full article....of course they hope you will go out and buy the magazine : ) But - this issue is packed with inspiration and eye candy. Not mention, the cover is beautiful... so you may want to pick up a copy.
I hope you get an extra special gift this year too!
Sapa Vietnam - Bac Ha Market

The Sunday Bac Ha Market isn't really for tourists. The Flower H'mong tribe sells live animals, food, and handicrafts. Wonderful for photography.
I haven't had much time to play with PS lately. I miss it. Lots of traveling to exotic places. So many photos to create with. I used several layers for this image... mine plus Kim's (kk2 & frame it). Sharing over at TT.
Last week I had breakfast on the beach of Temor Leste. This week I am on the other side of the world. In virginia, enjoying an autumn breakfast of pumpkin bread and pumpkin coffee - yummy...
