merry christmas to me - published in Somerset Studio!!

It is always a thrill to be published in the fabulous mixed media magazine Somerset Studio!

It was like a little Christmas present to me.

My Nov/Dec issue of Somerset Studio magazine FINALLY arrived yesterday. I was very anxious to receive it as I have an article published on "the last page". There was no artwork, just a little article about the love of my first rubber stamp and how it started a life long hobby obsession for me.

I love the little note the editor put at the bottom of the article...

They ask that we not share the full article....of course they hope you will go out and buy the magazine : ) But - this issue is packed with inspiration and eye candy. Not mention, the cover is beautiful... so you may want to pick up a copy.

I hope you get an extra special gift this year too!

The Sunday Bac Ha Market isn't really for tourists. The Flower H'mong tribe sells live animals, food, and handicrafts. Wonderful for photography.

I haven't had much time to play with PS lately. I miss it. Lots of traveling to exotic places. So many photos to create with. I used several layers for this image... mine plus Kim's (kk2 & frame it). Sharing over at TT.

Happy Autumn

I am a fall girl - I love my autumn colors, boots, and scarves. I miss this. Here in Singapore, we do not have a change of seasons. Our sun rises at the exact same time every day, all year, and it sets the same. Our temperature is in the low 90's everyday and humidity is around 85 to 90% (we are 85 miles from the equator). Oh yeah, it rains most every day around 3:00 but only for a brief period. This keeps us lush, green, and tropical. I am not complaining - I do LOVE living here! I just miss fall.

Yesterday, I changed out my entrance display to fall colors.

I baked pumpkin cupcakes...

and for "art day" we created fall cards. I pulled out all my leaf, tree, and pumpkin rubber stamps, stencils, and paper. It was fun.

collage series - pieces of my world

I have been creating like crazy with my new Gelli plate and stencils! If you do not own a Gelli plate you need to buy one today!

Here is a series I created called "Pieces of my World".... collages created with bits and pieces of my travels... including batik and hill tribe fabrics, joss paper, a very old wooden stamp I bought in Istanbul, Turkey, and vintage Asian paper from Hanoi, Vietnam.

A few of these went to blog friends as part of an art swap.

TT: Borobudur Temple

Borobudur Temple

Central Java, Indonesia

Borobudur is the world’s largest Buddhist temple, as well as one of the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was created in the 9th-century - which makes it 1200 years old. This is hard to image when you consider the US is just over 200 years old!

Altered using my own textures along with Kim's. I have many more photos to share with you of this amazing structure. Posting on Texture Tuesday with Kim and friends.
