I wrote about the rotating art project a week or so ago. They are not completely finished, but with the summer upon us, we will not be together as a full group again until September and I did not want to wait that long to share them.
So here goes...
This first one is M's and it was her move to Japan that prompted us to give this project a try. We started with our own collage and then passed it on to the next person. You will see common themes as we were all digging in the same box for supplies as well as each one of us has a distinct style.
Each collage has a map with our exact street in Singapore.
This one is mine. I started it with washi paper and Asian text.
I added the Goddess of Mercy, which is a copy of a photo I took of the actual head that sits in my living room. J then water-colored over it and I added the fabric flower on top. It was so much fun going back and forth on these collages.
This one below is J's. She started it with the water-colored Buddha head.
H started with a childhood photo of her mom.
This last one had the least work done on it, as S. was only able to make it to one session. Each of ours is also missing her touch!
This was such a fun project, I recommend you give it a try if you are part of an art group or even if you just have a group of friends together for the day. Sharing with collage obsession - this week's theme is you.
Very interesting project. Wonderful, lovely art works from both of you. Bravo:)

These are great and I must say - frame worthy! I think that would be such a fun way to work, sharing ideas and inspiration.

You and your art friends managed to produce real little art treasures - lovely. I love J's with the Buddha head and the Chinese fans and lettering in the background. Wish I had your group here in Baotou to give me advice on how to do the background of the painting of a Chinese girl I did last week.

This DOES look like it was fun; and in the end, I would absolutely treasure them all the more, for the process and friendship that went into them! "Nice work!" to all involved!
