Lucy Patterson HANDS-ON

Hi Cathy

Thanks for dropping by my blog and saying hi! Aren't these Hill Tribe fabrics just gorgeous? I fell in love with them in Vietnam too. I hope you make it up into the mountains to the Hill Tribe region. I know you'll love it.

If you go to Sapa, go to the Sapa O'Chau cafe run by a local Hill Tribe charity that gives Hill Tribe kids a brighter future (there's a boxed section about the charity in the latest Vietnam Lonely Planet). We did a trek through the charity and it was absolutely wonderful. And do make sure you go to the Sunday Bac Ha market! I've been to some pretty amazing markets in India, Morocco, Thailand etc, but I think this might just be the most colourful, exciting market I've ever been to!

I'm looking forward to doing some more projects with my Hill Tribe fabrics!

Happy crafting!
Lucy :)

I don't know how I missed this post. The swatches are beautiful and I love that someone thought enough of the talent in them that they saved them from the old clothing! I see a fabric journal a-la SEW Somerset, with the swatches stitched into a book and then your gorgeous travel photos stitched on just so. I think it would be a beautiful momento of that trip and be sure to include your fun facts about the area!
