This is part three of my Cambodia trip, our visit to the breath-taking temples of Angkor Wat. So many more temples then I ever imagined.

Devata - sacred female images
As always - I have to share a few door pictures!
Cambodia was one of my favorite countries to visit. If you are thinking about visiting - I strongly encourage you to.
Love the one with the tree growing out the top and, of course, the doors! Doorways are just so symbolic.
I noticed a couple of the statues where it looked like the lips were painted red. Was that vandalism or does it have some significance?

Interesting question Kathy - and I am not sure of the answer. I googled it - but nothing really came up. Since there was no other graffiti - I would say it is not vandalism. My mom also commented on how all of the statues have a slight smile on their faces. All so fascinating!
